Maggie Rappaport, Personal Trainer

My passion for helping osteoporosis patients improve bone density began in 1997, as I was beginning my career as a fitness trainer. The facility where I was working at the time was chosen as one of the test sites for the BEST Study, conducted by researchers from the University of Arizona, who were performing research to determine which exercises and under what conditions would ultimately lead to the maximum improvement of bone density during the six-year trial.

More than 20 years later, I am armed with the information revealed in the BEST Study and able to help men and women with osteoporosis make major improvements in their overall fitness level, but most importantly, BUILDING STRONGER BONES!

Does it work? YOU BET! Just read some of the testimonials.

Maggie Rappaport

I have been certified by the American Council on Exercise since 1990 and am a 1993 graduate of the University of Arizona. I enjoy training men and women of any age or ability, although I have a special affinity for developing fitness programs for seniors. Most recently, my emphasis has been on developing and implementing programs with the specific goal of improving bone density for clients who have been diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia.

Over my years of experience I have worked closely with special needs clients, including those who wish to make the transition from physical therapy to a regular exercise program, as well as clients with multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, cancer, osteoporosis, arthritis, diabetes, strokes, heart disease, and a variety of injuries.

The most important step of putting a program together is to listen to my clients and find out where they are in terms of fitness goals and where they would like to be. I include the proper mix of strength, flexibility, cardiovascular, and balance training to help clients meet their specific goals. Although most of my clients would say they don’t particularly enjoy exercising, most of them would tell you they have learned something or enjoyed their personal training sessions.
